Los Angeles Olympics: Tom Cruise Skydives Into Spectacular Opening Ceremony

Los Angeles lit the Olympic flame in quite cinematic style, opening the games with an absolutely stunning opening ceremony. One of Hollywood’s stars, Tom Cruise, once again playing his gutsy iconic part of Ethan Hunt from Mission Impossible, astounded all with a skydive from the roof of the stadium to the energizing tracks of that movie’s iconic theme, played live on electric guitar.

It was an empowering Mission: Impossible soundtrack performed by Grammy-winning R&B sensation H.E.R., that securely revved the crowd into fever pitch. When the music surged, Cruise completed a hair-raising 50-meter drop at the Stade de France; he hit the ground effortlessly in front of the applauding athletes. He snatched the Olympic flag from gymnastics legend Simone Biles, attached it to a motorcycle, and drove out of the arena with an action hero’s grasp.

That wasn’t all for Cruise. He throttled out in front of the Eiffel Tower, biked along and then leaped off a plane over the Hollywood Hills. And then, in a shot that electrified the crowd, the iconic Hollywood sign was reimagined with the addition of five Olympic rings.

The Olympic flag’s trek across Los Angeles continued as it was passed from one U.S. Olympian to another before reaching its final destination: an epic beach party. The event was a celebration blessed with the unforgettable performances of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Billie Eilish, and, not to mention, the duet act from Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre.

Tom Cruise later retweeted and shared, “I’m incredibly proud of all that we’ve done together. I look forward to sharing our next Mission!” That video of this spectacular event is blowing a storm across social media, capturing the imagination of fans worldwide.
