Speaker Om Birla Reports 103% Productivity in First Lok Sabha Session

The Lok Sabha Secretariat reported to the House that, during the first session of the Parliament, 103% of the Parliament’s productivity was attained, as stated by Speaker Om Birla. The 18th Lok Sabha’s first session began on June 24 and ended on July 2 with the Prime Minister’s reply. The 34-hour session was broken up into seven sittings. The entire session featured speeches from fifty members.

68 members participated in an 18-hour discussion that followed the President’s speech on June 27. With the passing of the President’s Motion of Thanks for the Joint Session of Parliament, the session concluded. 539 members of both chambers of Parliament took an oath to become public servants during the first two days of the session. Throughout the first session, there were a lot of passionate speeches.

The conversation was dominated by topics like Manipur, the Agnipath plan, paper leaks, and the NEET-UG exam. Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition, also cultivated controversy when he said that PM Modi and the BJP were inciting violence and hatred against minorities and that they weren’t “true Hindus.” The speaker ordered several of his remarks to be removed from the record. Rahul Gandhi had a “balak buddhi, tumse na ho paega.” Prime Minister Modi retaliated, saying that he would not be able to perform successfully because of his childlike mentality.

A motion denouncing the opposition’s actions during Prime Minister Modi’s reply—namely, their sloganeering and interruption of his speech—was moved by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.
