Liam Payne, 31, a former member of One Direction, died tragically on Wednesday after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Local authorities verified the incident at the Casa Sur Hotel in the Palermo district. According to reports, Payne suffered mortal injuries after falling from the third story. He was declared dead on the spot by emergency personnel.
Police in Buenos Aires said that Payne seemed to have leaped from his balcony after receiving a distress call regarding a violent visitor who might have been under the influence of drink or narcotics. The caller, the hotel manager, described a tumultuous situation in which a visitor was “overwhelmed with drugs and alcohol” and seriously damaging the room.
An examination is being conducted by specialists to determine the exact reason for his passing.
