KL Rahul Ruled Out, Ravindra Jadeja’s Fitness Status for India vs England 3rd Test Revealed: Latest Updates
India lost KL Rahul due to his injury, which prevented him from playing in the second Test in Visakhapatnam, which dealt a serious setback to the hosts’ batting plans for the third Test against England. The BCCI selection committee on Monday eliminated Rahul, whose availability for the final three Test matches of the series depended on his level of fitness. Devdutt Padikkal, another batter from Karnataka, was selected to take his position. However, what is the state of playmaker Ravindra Jadeja’s health, considering his selection for the Rajkot game was also contingent on it?
A 17-man team was chosen by selectors last week for the final three Test matches against England. Following a run of subpar batsmanship, Shreyas Iyer was removed from the team; however, Jadeja and Rahul were added to the roster, but their participation was contingent upon receiving fitness clearance from the BCCI medical team. Both of the senior players were ruled out of the second Test match in Visakhapatnam due to injuries sustained by Jadeja (hamstring) during the first Test in Hyderabad and Rahul (quadriceps soreness) following the match.
The batsman will continue his recovery at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru before making a return for the final two Tests; Rahul, however, was unable to recover in time for the Rajkot Test. “Rahul is improving nicely under the guidance of the BCCI Medical Team, having attained 90% match fitness. In order to be fully match-fit for the fourth and fifth Tests, he will continue his recuperation process at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, according to the BCCI release.
Is Ravindra Jadeja available for selection in 3rd Test against England?
Nevertheless, neither Jadeja’s availability for selection in the third Test against England in Rajkot nor his level of fitness were mentioned in the BCCI press release. However, he did have an asterisk next to his name when he was described as a member of the “updated squad,” just like when the initial squad was announced for the previous three Test matches against Ben Stokes’ team, indicating that “the participation is subject to fitness clearance from the BCCI medical team.” Jadeja joined the Indian team, which conducted their first practise session for the match on Monday, according to a report. Rahul, on the other hand, did not report to Rajkot for the third Test.

KL Rahul is still not reporting to Rajkot. The local youngster, Ravindra Jadeja, has become involved with the team. Under the condition of anonymity, a senior BCCI source , “It was always a case of subject to fitness and BCCI medical team is still not confident that he is match fit.”
