KBC 16: Amitabh Bachchan Reveals How He ‘Almost Fainted’ When Michael Jackson Accidentally Knocked on His New York Hotel Room

Ace veteran Amitabh Bachchan remembered late and legendary singer Michael Jackson in a recent episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16. This he said while talking to Padma Shree awardees Dr. Abhay and Dr. Rani Bang. Amitabh talked about an unforgettable meeting with the King of Pop.

Further into the show, Amitabh asked Dr. Rani who her favourite singer was; she said Michael Jackson, and Amitabh immediately prompted her to tell about the time he met the legendary artist.

Amitabh recounted, “I was staying in a hotel in New York, and one day, there came a knock at my door. And to my utter surprise, there stood Michael Jackson.

I was so shocked that I almost fainted, but I came to my senses. Michael asked if this was my room, and when I said yes, he realised he had gone through the wrong door.

Later, he asked someone to contact me, and we finally met. And despite all his fame and fortune, Michael was amazingly humble.”

Amitabh also shared another memory and said, “On another occasion, we attended one of the Michael Jackson shows in America.

We had to struggle to reach from New York to the place of the show, and when we reached there, we were informed that all 350 hotel rooms were booked for Michael and his team.

The security personnel finally managed to get us sitting on the last row of the stadium.”. That was a breathtaking performance; his singing and dancing were simply out of this world. The atmosphere was electric, full of thunderous applause and an almost magical energy.”
