Karan Johar Responds to Divya Khosla Kumar’s ‘Fake’ Box Office Claims on Jigra with Cryptic Post: ‘Silence Is Best…’
Divya Khosla Kumar and Alia Bhatt have been embroiled in a debate about their films, Jigra and Savi, which has escalated. Divya aimed Alia directly on Instagram. Jigra appears to be drawing little to no audience, according to Divya, who shared a picture of an empty auditorium. She made the seemingly sarcastic accusation that Alia might be manipulating box office receipts by purchasing her tickets.
Divya wrote, “Went to Citi Mall PVR for Jigra show.” on her post. The theater stood empty. Everywhere there are vacant cinemas. Hello, tickets are on sale now, and bogus collections will be announced soon. #AliaBhatt me sach mein Bahut #Jigra hai. Why is there no word from sponsored media? #truthoverlies #HappyDussehra #weshdnotfooltheaudience She deftly used wordplay to make fun of Alia’s “courage” for supposedly influencing the box office performance of her movie.
Shortly after Divya’s comments, Karan Johar, who is well-known for his tight relationship with Alia, responded with a mysterious Instagram post. Many others read his statement, “Silence is the best speech you will ever give to fools,” as a subtly critical response to Divya’s charges.
There has always been friction between Divya and Alia. In a recent media appearance, Divya had acknowledged the parallels between Jigra and Savi, pointing out that both feature jailbreak stories. But Divya has made it clear that her movie has a unique story. “Yeah, I have been getting a lot of questions from the trade, the industry, and the media about how Savi and Jigra seem so similar, but I think every movie has its own journey,” she said to IANS.

Divya showcased Savi’s triumph despite these parallels, praising its powerful showing in theaters and on OTT channels, where it has led charts internationally. She sees this as evidence that her movie can stand alone without reference to Jigra or any kind of competition.
