Kangana Ranaut Slams Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal for Glorifying Violence and Neglecting Law and Order
Curiously, it was Kangana Ranaut who had first broken the barriers with films based on romantic drama that promoted patriarchal values and glorified violence.
Speaking during the promotion of her upcoming film, Emergency, she slammed Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s much-acclaimed blockbuster stylized, Animal, set for a 2023 release featuring Ranbir Kapoor as a vengeful goon. The film is getting commercial success, but Kangana is not convinced about its consequences for society.
In her criticism, Kangana was angry by the way violence was depicted in movies. She said, “The kinds of patriarchal films that continue to be made and why they are always successful impacts the minds.
People are hooting for the movies where men are seen fighting with each other with axes and all. We have scenes where people are going with machine guns inside of a school, like as if it’s OK to forcefully put down any group, genocides it’s OK”.
The law seems not to exist, and the scenes are rife with violence and death by all means. It’s just for entertainment purposes, without any consideration or concern about public welfare and social effect. It’s all about having fun and indulging in drugs.
Kangana has an uncanny sense of timing; her criticism of Vanga comes exactly after the success of Animal. After the film was released, Vanga had expressed keenness to work with Kangana. She had replied, “Please don’t offer me any roles.

Otherwise, your alpha male heroes might become feminists, and then your films might struggle. You make blockbusters, and the industry needs you.”
Kangana, in this light, shall be releasing her upcoming film, Emergency, on September 6. Her statement is part of the ongoing aggression that apparently wants to question the norms she thinks are hurting popular media.
