Kangana Ranaut Announces New Release Date for Indira Gandhi Biopic ‘Emergency
The release date of actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut’s next movie, Emergency, has been revealed. On Tuesday, Kangana also posted a new movie poster to Instagram.
New release date of Emergency
Kangana played the role of Indira Gandhi, the previous prime minister. She turned her back on the camera on the poster. On September 7 of this year, the movie will be released.
“Announcing #KanganaRanaut’s #Emergency In Cinemas On September 6, 2024,” the caption said, marked the start of India’s darkest chapter marking its 50th year of independence. The explosive story of #EmergencyOn6Sept, the most controversial episode in Indian democracy history, will be shown in theaters across the globe.
Multiple delays of Emergency
The publication date was rescheduled to coincide with the Lok Sabha Elections last month. The primary actor, writer, director, and producer of Emergency is Kangana. The impending political drama is being produced by Manikarnika Films Production. The film’s original release date of November 24, 2023 has been postponed numerous times.

The narrative of Emergency is presented as that of a turning point in Indian political history. In addition, Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Vishak Nair, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, and the late Satish Kaushik are included. Produced by Renu Pitti and Kangana, Emergency has the support of Zee Studios. Sanchit Balhara orchestrated the music, while Ritesh Shah wrote the screenplay and language.
