Barack and Michelle Obama Endorse Kamala Harris for US President in 2024

Kamala Harris, the current vice president, received support for the US presidential nomination on Friday from former US President Barack Obama and his spouse Michelle. Michelle and I spoke with our friend @KamalaHarris earlier this week. We told her that we fully support her and believe she will be an excellent president of the United States. We are going to do every effort to ensure her victory in November, especially at this crucial juncture for our Homeland. We really hope you can come along,” Obama wrote on X.

Former First Lady Michelle Obama declared, “I’m so proud of my girl, Kamala. Her optimism, sense of humor, and capacity to uplift and inspire people nationwide are the reasons Barack and I are thrilled to support her as the Democratic nominee. We’ve got you covered. In the days following incumbent President Joe Biden’s decision to withdraw from the run for president, Harris,59, has amassed enough pledged delegates to claim the Democratic candidacy.

“I have never felt a greater honor than to be your president. Although Biden had intended to run for reelection, he had stated in a letter that he felt it would be better for his party and the nation if he stepped down and concentrated only on finishing his term as president. In addition to holding sizable rallies on the final two weekends before Election Day, Barack and Michelle Obama ran separate campaigns for Hillary Clinton in 2016 and Joe Biden in 2020.

Biden made the choice in response to growing Democratic pressure to withdraw from consideration for a second term. His performance in the debate against Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, which increased concerns that the 81-year-old US president would not be able to win the election, frightened the Democrats. After being chosen to be Obama’s vice president for two terms, Biden left the Senate and entered the public eye.
