Kailash Kher Unveils New Devotional Track ‘Hey Kanha Hey Gopala’ Ahead of Krishna Janmashtami
Renowned singer and composer Padma Shri Kailash Kher is going to enthral his fans once again with the upcoming devotional single, “Hey Kanha Hey Gopala,” on the eve of Krishna Janmashtami. His new song assures something much more than a regular release by Kher,known for his soulful voice and deep spiritual sense; it is bathed in spirituality, creativity, and his signature quirkiness.
In a reflective conversation, Kailash Kher shared the inspiration behind the song and took the followers down memory lane. “Since childhood, we have been devoted to Lord Shiva and often sing for him. But two years ago, during a Kailasa concert in Mathura, the atmosphere inspired me deeply. The stories of Lord Krishna’s divine play and teachings came together to make me create this song,” Kher explained.
This song has tried to capture the various moods of Lord Krishna in a way, symbolizing joy, love, happiness, and playfulness. Kher goes on to explain how Lord Shiva was serious as opposed to Lord Krishna, who was playful. He insists that his new song will have deep spiritual meanings done with lots of symbolism.
Now, much to contribute to the surprise note, Kher teased the release of the music video, which shall be out this evening prior to Janmashtami. With an imminent Lord Krishna and his Radhika portrayal like never before, the video promises ingenuity wrung into play by Kher.

Kher also spoke about his musical journey where he reflected on the challenges faced by him during the initial days of his career. He shared how most of his romantic hits, be it “Teri Deewani” or “Saiyaan”, have always had that element of devotion in them, somehow fudging love and spirituality together in a manner which appealed to people across the world.
As usual, Kher wrapped up with a mix of wittiness and wisdom, locating the deep spiritual link that runs through his music in even his most romantic songs.
