John Abraham Reveals How Shah Rukh Khan Gifted Him a Motorcycle After Pathaan’s Success
John Abraham’s new film, Vedaa, comes right after the mega success of his last outing, Pathaan. In Pathaan, John played the role of a formidable adversary, Jim, pitted against Shah Rukh Khan’s titular hero; Deepika Padukone played a crucial role in the film.
When the movie turned out to be a runaway success, a party was thrown to celebrate the occasion, but John, who generally retires early to bed wasn’t too keen on attending. Knowing John’s nature, Shah Rukh Khan had a very different present in store for him—an invitation to the party in lieu of his motorcycle. He gladly accepted the invitation and went home elated with his new motorcycle.
Currently, John Abraham appears in Vedaa, a gripping drama based on some really harrowing and true events. Much inspiration came from the tragic stories of victims who delved deep into the dark world of caste-based violence and social discrimination, like Manoj-Babli, who became the victim of horrific honor killing, and Meenakshi Kumari, brutally punished by the village council. Vedaa revolves around three central characters who glide through the storm of societal injustice.
News18 Showsha also rated the film 3/5 stars, commenting that Sharvari Wugh seemed to be the most striking in the acting department. The review defines her range and abilities as getting across so much through expressions, helps increase the depth of her character and adds weight to her presence.
Whereas Vedaa steps sometime on familiar territory in the bourgeoisie-versus-evil narrative, it never fails to impress one by its strong message against caste-based discrimination and oppression. It gives a compelling voice to social injustices from the point of view of a resolute woman driven to bring down a corrupt system.

But, in spite of dark spots, Vedaa does remain thought-provoking and engaging. It doesn’t soar to the heights the genre has offered with other films, but strong themes and an effective storyline make this worth the watch.
