Jay Shah Leads Birthday Wishes for India’s T20I Skipper Suryakumar Yadav Ahead of 34th Birthday

Jay Shah Leads Birthday Wishes for India’s T20I Skipper Suryakumar Yadav Ahead of 34th Birthday

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah tweeted birthday wishes for India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav a day in advance as he turns 34 this Saturday.

“Happy Birthday to our T20I skipper and Mr. 360 with the bat, @surya_14kumar! Very excited to watch you guide Men in Blue to many more victories in T20 cricket,” Shah tweeted. Warmest wishes for the forthcoming year! ” he wrote on his ‘X’ account.

The permanent fixture in the cricket history, Suryakumar Yadav, who had topped the men’s T20I rankings in the past, pulled off an incredible relay catch at long-off during the T20 World Cup final at Kensington Oval, Barbados, to dismiss David Miller. The catch proved crucial in enabling India to break an 11-year drought in global titles.

Meanwhile, Suryakumar’s wife, Devisha Shetty also joined the party as she posted a heartwarming message for her husband on Instagram.

“Happy happy birthday to my best friend, husband, lover, my world and the best decision of my life! I am grateful everyday for you. You make this world a better place and I don’t know what would I do without you. Love you now and forever,” she wrote.

Suryakumar, since his international debut in 2021, has established himself among the best in T20I cricket, but on ODIs and Tests, his career is yet to scale such heights.

He has been out of action with a hand injury he sustained in the match between Mumbai and TNCA XI during the Buchi Babu Invitational Tournament in Coimbatore, a reason which also kept him out of the Duleep Trophy.

Suryakumar, though, leads India in international cricket once again, in the three-match T20I series that the neighbours will tour for, starting on October 6, 9 and 12 in Gwalior, New Delhi and Hyderabad respectively. When Bangladesh had toured India back in 2019, they lost the T20I series 2-1.
