Israel on High Alert After Suspected Terrorist Bus Explosions Near Tel Aviv
In the Israeli city of Bat Yam, located south of Tel Aviv, Israel explosions were heard by a source on February 20, 2025, against three buses. Despite the fact that no one was injured, the buses were left unoccupied and had been set up in a depot when the blasts occurred, causing significant harm. According to Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz, Palestinian terrorist organizations were responsible for the attacks following them. At a security briefing, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the military to carry out an “energetic” violence campaign against terror hubs bordering the West Bank. The incident has rekindled memories of the bus bombings of the early 2000s, when public transport was a target again and again. Although they are becoming more frequent, the Bat Yam explosions are a potent reminder of Israel’s seemingly unyielding effort to perpetuate its security.
