Ishan Kishan Makes Comeback: Scores 19 Runs in DY Patil T20 Cup
Ishan Kishan’s return of cricket was not completely fruitful. He took part in the DY Patil T20 Cup 2024 match between RBI and Route Mobile Limited on Tuesday, February 27, at the DY Patil College Grounds in Navi Mumbai. He stumped Sayan Mondal and ousted Sumit Dhekale with some decent glove work. But with the bat in hand, the southpaw fell short of expectations.
Kishan got off to a respectable start to his innings after RBI was asked to chase down a challenging mark of 193. After hitting Maxwell Swaminathan for a four on the ground, he fetched a boundary off Badrey Alam. Kishan was out in the next over after Kishan had hit Maxwell for a massive six over the wide long-on region in the previous over.
Ishan Kishan attempted a second six-ball, but he was caught by Sachin Bhosle. The young player hit two fours and a six to score 19 runs off of 12 balls. Kishan had not played cricket in that frame of mind for the past 90 days before to the DY Patil T20 Trophy. In November 2023, he made his Indian show in the Twenty20 series against Australia.

After that, he took a vacation from the Test series against South Africa citing “mental fatigue.” Additionally, he was not selected to participate in the Test match against England. Dhruv Jurel and KS Bharat were favored by India over him. Preceding this, lead trainer Rahul Dravid said that Kishan would rejoin the Indian crew. As indicated by Dravid, Kishan needs to get once more into the public group by playing serious cricket once more.
