IPL 2024: Suryakumar Yadav Makes Comeback with First Batting Appearance Post-Surgery

IPL 2024: Ahead of the Indian Premier League, Mumbai Indians and India batsman Suryakumar Yadav has displayed good prospects. After his operation, Suryakumar has resumed batting in the nets.

The hitter for the Mumbai Indians and India, Suryakumar Yadav, batted again for the first time since undergoing surgery in January 2024. Before the Indian Premier League 2024 season, Suryakumar uploaded a video narrative to his Instagram account in which he was seen hitting the ball into the nets.

Since India’s T20I series against South Africa, Suryakumar Yadav has not participated in any competitive cricket matches. On December 14, 2023, Yadav hurt his ankle while fielding in Johannesburg. His fitness worries were exacerbated when it was discovered that he had a sports hernia as a result of the injury. Suryakumar was consequently declared unable to play until February 2024, missing vital World Cup preparation time.

Yadav’s return to the nets is a very positive indication for supporters of the Indian cricket team and the Mumbai Indians. Suryakumar’s stats on the T20I circuit are impressive. In 60 T20I games since making his debut in 2021, Yadav has amassed 2141 runs at an absurd average of 45.55 and strike rate of 171.55. From just 60 matches, Yadav has 4 hundreds and 17 fifties.
