IPL 2024: Debutant Mayank Yadav Bowls Fastest Ball at 155.8 kmph in LSG vs PBKS Clash
On March 30, the Indian Premier League’s fastest ball of the season was recorded by rookie bowler Mayank Yadav. The 21-year-old’s quickness worried the Punjab hitters during his game at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. In his second over against Punjab, Mayank beat Rajasthan’s Nandre Burger with the fastest ball of the season, clocking in at 155.8 KMPH.
Mayank, a domestic season player for Delhi, was not present for the Indian Premier League’s build-up. But Mayank’s performance on Saturday did not reflect that, as the bowler quickly removed Jonny Bairstow and Prabhsimran Singh when the side desperately needed wickets in the game’s second innings.
Mayank Yadav’s Impactful Bowling Spells in IPL 2024
A promising young cricket player, Mayank Yadav was acquired by Lucknow prior to the 2022 IPL season. Mayank, who was born on June 17, 2002, is a bowler who specializes in fast bowling—a quality that LSG was eager to add to their team.

The quick bowler was expected to excel by LSG head coach Justin Langer going into the season. Although Langer had stated that losing England’s Mark Wood would be a setback, the squad still had enough firepower to compete well.
