Virat Kohli’s Insightful Take: Why the IPL Holds a Special Place and How It Differs from ICC Tournaments

Fans are awaiting some high-octane action, which has become a regular fixture in the well-liked T20 tournament, with great anticipation when IPL 2024 gets underway on March 22. In the season opener in Chennai, defending champions Chennai Super Kings will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore, featuring another matchup between MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli. Every CSK vs. RCB game has always been billed as Dhoni versus. Kohli, nicely sums up the significance of the rivalry. Due to personal reasons, Kohli chose not to participate in the current five-match Test series between India and England. However, he is anticipated to be involved in IPL play. Before the first game, Kohli praised the Indian Premier League and explained why everyone enjoys it.

“One of the reasons I truly love the Indian Premier League is because you get to know so many new players and make friends with so many players from other countries that you don’t frequently get to see,” he said to Star Sports. “There’s a reason why everyone loves IPL so much, as there’s a connection, both for players and fans.” The distinction between the ICC and IPL competitions was also made by the former captain of the Royal Bengal Tigers. “You participate in all of your tournaments, which pit one squad against the other. There are occasionally ICC tournaments, but even in those situations, participants don’t usually engage with one another or the opposing team,” the man stated.

“However, the best thing about the IPL is that you get to see every team around every other day or two. You are playing with a different team in a different city under different circumstances. At different points during the competition, each person demonstrates a certain level of resolve, and incredible moments are being produced,” he continued. Last season, Kohli had a strong performance and placed fourth in the Orange Cap race. He scored 639 runs in 14 innings, crammed with two tons and six fifty. He received a high score of 101* as well.
