IPL 2024 Set for 5 Much-Awaited Comebacks: Franchises Receive Grand Boost in Title Charge

IPL 2024 2024 Set for 5 Much-Awaited Comebacks: Franchises Receive Grand Boost in Title Charge

IPL 2024 season is scheduled to kick off in Chennai on March 23 between the reigning champion Chennai Super Kings and the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Some of the best cricket players in the world are returning to the event this season; some will return after missing out due to injuries the previous year, while a good number chose not to participate in the previous editions but are back to support their teams.

Let’s examine a few of the important players who will be returning to the IPL in 2024:

Following a near-fatal vehicle accident in December 2022, the Indian wicketkeeper-batter’s future as a cricket player was seriously questioned. Pant continued rehabilitation and treatment over the following year to quickly return to professional cricket; early this month, the National Cricket Academy (NCA) eventually gave him the all-clear to play in the IPL. The Delhi Capitals, led by Pant in the competition, will greatly increase the strength of the Capitals’ batting attack as they look to improve on their results from last year. The team placed a pitiful eighth in the previous campaign.

Pant could be able to guarantee a spot in the Indian T20 World Cup team with a strong IPL showing. Following his injury-plagued 2023 Indian Premier League stint due to back stress, fans of the Mumbai Indians will be ecstatic to see their favorite bowler, Bumrah, return to action in the upcoming season. Before the 2024 IPL, they were overjoyed that Bumrah was playing at the highest level possible.

Bumrah claimed 19 wickets in four Tests during the most recent Test series against England, putting on an amazing display. Bumrah’s last T20 match was in August 2023 against Ireland, which was even longer ago. He hasn’t played in white-ball cricket since the ODI World Cup last year. After a few years away, one of Australia’s best pacers, Mitchell Starc, will be back with the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League this year. Due to Starc’s December auction purchase, which made him the most expensive player in the league, his arrival comes before much fanfare. Starc’s services were acquired by the KKR for an incredible INR 24.75 crore following a fierce bidding war. In 2015, Starc participated in his final Indian Premier League match as a player for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. He left the game after being signed by KKR for the upcoming campaign. Unlike Bumrah, Starc took part in two Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) last month against New Zealand.
