Indian-born Entrepreneur Rinson Jose Allegedly Connected to Pager Blasts Targeting Hezbollah in Lebanon

Rinson Jose, an entrepreneur born in India who is now a citizen of Norway, may be connected to the recent pager bombings in Lebanon. The attacks have killed at least 12 people and wounded many more.

According to reports, Jose, who lives in Oslo with his wife and holds Norwegian nationality, owns Norta Global. This firm is registered in Bulgaria, and it’s believed he supplied the pages used in the bombings.

Although the devices were made by Hungarian company BAC Consulting using a trademark owned by Taiwanese firm Gold Apollo, they were allegedly sourced via Norta Global.

Family Defends Jose

In response to the allegations, those close to Jose believe in his innocence. They haven’t been able to reach him and his wife since what happened.

They believe he may have become a victim of the explosions,” said a relative. Family sources say they have not spoken to Jose for three days.

Jose went abroad from India a few years ago to study higher. Before moving to Oslo, Norway, where he now lives, he was briefly in London.

He has his own business as well as working for a company in the Norwegian capital. His twin brother resides in Britain’s biggest city. People who know him from the area in Kerala he grew up in say he is “a nice person” with no known history of causing trouble.

Investigations into the Blasts

Investigations are ongoing into the supply chain of pagers used in recent attacks on Hezbollah that were detonated remotely. Taiwan and Bulgaria have said they weren’t involved.

There is no clear information yet about how the pagers were weaponized or exploded by someone who wasn’t nearby. The attacks, which killed 37 people and hurt nearly 3,000, took place Tuesday and Wednesday (local time).

Officials from several countries are looking into the matter. Israel hasn’t said anything publicly about possible links to explosions there, but witnesses report seeing Israeli drones in the area at the time.

Taiwanese company Gold Apollo says it didn’t make those specific devices; a Hungarian firm called BAC Consulting had permission to use their name.

Bulgarian authorities also deny any involvement. They add that no pagers found at the scene either came through Bulgaria (by import or export) or were built there.
