Imtiaz Ali Reveals Amar Singh Chamkila’s Family Dynamics: Child with First Wife After Welcoming Kid with Amarjot

Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali said that following the birth of Jaiman by his second wife, Amarjot, Amar Singh Chamkila had a child with his first wife, Gurmail. Imtiaz discussed Gurmail’s response to the movie in an interview. He also discussed how he strengthened the bonds between the families of Amarjot and Gurmail.

“There, Amarjot and Gurmail’s families were attempting to take individual photos with me,” Imtiaz stated. However, I ordered them to “take one picture together” (ki ek picture saath mein lo). Jaiman gives Gurmail’s mother a call. Life happens, but as long as everyone can pull together, everything works out for the best. Gurmail told me she adored the movie after seeing it with her son-in-law, daughter, and grandkids. She sobbed and hugged me. Everyone became emotional. At that time, she made incredibly great remarks.

Imtiaz talks about Chamkila’s other child with his first wife.

Imtiaz continued, “Chamkila’s life is filled with a lot of fascinating events that also broaden the story’s scope. A great deal more transpired between them. I thus found it quite difficult to distill everything while maintaining interesting and timely subjects. Once he (Amar) had a kid with Amarjot, he (Amar) had another with Gurmail. My sister, Chamkila, has given me an explanation of the situation. Not only is it on file, but I also wrote a scene about it that I had to scrap since it didn’t seem as essential as the other scenes.
