Imran Khan Confirms Divorce from Avantika; Defends Lekha Washington Amid ‘Homewrecker’ Claims

Actor Imran Khan has officially ended years of rumors by stating that he and Avantika Malik are divorced. He revealed that they broke up in 2019 in a brand-new interview with Vogue India. Also, he acknowledged dating Lekha Washington.

Imran acknowledged in the interview that he is in a love relationship with Lekha Washington. I haven’t been with my partner since February 2019. I am divorced. Imran also replied to criticism of Lekha that was posted on social media. “This narrative about Lekha being a home wrecker enrages me because it eliminates my agency as an individual and is misogynistic.” “A year and a half after I had been separated from Avantika and almost a year after she had separated from her partner, not husband, as it has been widely reported,” he continued, “Lekha and I grew close during the lockdown.”

About Avantika and Imran

Imran and Avantika were married in 2011. Imara, their daughter, is a child. Though there were reports of their breakup starting in 2019, neither Imran nor Avantika addressed them. It was said a year ago that Imran and Avantika had decided to split up. Avantika has also previously uploaded Instagram posts that alluded to her personal life. She had written about feeling “stuck” and finding solace in “darkest nights” in a post from 2021. Avantika referred to a post she made regarding marriage and divorce as a “truth bomb” in 2020. She had mentioned that she was ‘healing’ in an earlier post.

In 2019, there were rumors that Imran and Avantika had broken up, to which Avantika’s mother Vandana took offense. “We all read the news, and let me tell you that there’s no such thing,” she stated to In.com. There are certain disagreements, but they will be resolved nonetheless. Recently, Imran went with Lekha to his cousin Ira Khan’s wedding.
