Ibrahim Ali Khan’s ‘Diler’ Cancels London Shoot Amid UK Unrest: Team Scouts Mumbai Locations

The much-talked-about sporting drama, Diler, starring Ibrahim Ali Khan has just seen a massive change in its shooting plans. Amidst growing unrest in the United Kingdom, producer Dinesh Vijan has now called off the film’s shooting schedule that was to take place in London. Mid-day reports that this Kunal Deshmukh-directed film was supposed to have a long schedule in the UK. However, the whole plan has been scrapped to take care of the safety of the cast and crew.

For the same, director Kunal Deshmukh and his production team are understood to be currently doing a recce in different parts of Mumbai that can double up for the UK backdrop. Dropping the plan for the international schedule was keeping in mind the well being of everyone associated with the project. A source close to the production revealed, “In July-end, the team conducted a recce and look tests in London. Kunal had planned a continuous shooting schedule in which key portions of the film would have been completed. But with the worsening situation, the makers felt it would be too costly to hire extensive security.” The insider added that it was the producer’s paramount concern for the safety of the unit that has compelled them to look for domestic alternatives.

The new shooting schedule is likely to start in the first week of September.

Diler is believed to be inspired by the life of a marathon runner and it was set to be the second movie project for Ibrahim Ali Khan. Casting details are still to be made but the movie has created copious amounts of buzz. It is with Sarzameen that Ibrahim, son of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, will debut in Bollywood alongside Kajol and Prithviraj Sukumaran. Helmed by Kayoze Irani and produced by Karan Johar, Sarzameen is mounted as the mystery thriller which holds several love and relationship aspects within it.
