Hrithik Roshan’s name is doing the rounds for Kaleen Bhaiyya’s role in the upcoming film adaptation of Mirzapur. If confirmed, Hrithik would step into the shoes of Pankaj Tripathi, who made the character iconic in the popular web series streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

Gurmeet Singh, the director for the series Mirzapur, very recently talked about the rumors in an interview with Dainik Bhaskar. He did not say yes and nor no to the reports but hinted at exciting developments.

“There hasn’t been any official announcement yet. The producers and studio are making the decisions, and only they can provide an official statement. At this point, I can’t give a definite answer,” Singh said.

He further commented on Hrithik’s involvement, “Till the time higher authorities declare it, I cannot say anything.” The Excel Media and Entertainment produced series has been faring exceptionally well on Amazon Prime Video.

The reports of Hrithik Roshan’s involvement in Kaleen Bhaiyya’s role have received mixed responses among the social media users.

Several fans were irked and say that Hrithik should do original roles rather than stepping into the shoes of characters made popular by others. “Some reports were saying Hrithik will enact Kaleen Bhaiyya.

Though a very fine role, we would love to see him excel in all new, original roles,” shared one user. Another user chimed in, “It feels like popular roles are being taken from the actors who made those famous.”

Not once, however, has this rumor been addressed by the stalwart Pankaj Tripathi throughout the series. Mirzapur, with three seasons in the bank and a fourth already in the pipeline, still remains one of the biggest successes in the world of streaming.
