From Jail Wale to Bail Wale CM: BJP Demands Arvind Kejriwal’s Immediate Resignation Following Supreme Court Verdict

From Jail Wale to Bail Wale CM: BJP Demands Arvind Kejriwal’s Immediate Resignation Following Supreme Court Verdict

A day after the Supreme Court granted Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal bail in the Delhi excise policy case, the Bharatiya Janata Party has asked him to quit forthwith on moral grounds.

At a press conference, the BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia attacked Kejriwal: “The Supreme Court has actually held up a mirror to Delhi’s Chief Minister by giving him bail with conditions. He should immediately resign. Arvind Kejriwal has now become the ‘bail wale CM’,” he said.

Bhatia further attacked Kejriwal on grounds of moral integrity and said, “Despite being let off on conditional bail, Kejriwal continues to hold a constitutional position. It is fair to describe him as ‘bhrastachar yukt, CM abhyukt’.”

Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva too had something to say: “Arvind Kejriwal has now joined AAP’s ‘Zamaanti Club’ (the bail club). AAP leaders need to carefully review the Supreme Court’s judgment, which affirmed that Kejriwal’s arrest was entirely legal.”
