Flight Mode and WiFi: How Baba Siddique Murder Accused Evaded Detection to Contact Anmol Bishnoi
After being detained in Fazilka, Punjab, on November 16 for his role in the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique, Akashdeep Gill revealed during questioning a special technique he employed to evade capture.
Internet Hotspot to Contact Gang Members
Gill told the Mumbai Crime Branch that he made communication with the brother of incarcerated mobster Lawrence Bishnoi, Anmol Bishnoi, and other suspects, including Shubham Lonkar, Zeeshan Akhtar, and suspected shooter Shiv Kumar Gautam, via the mobile hotspot of a field worker named Balwinder.
Gill successfully concealed his whereabouts by connecting to Balwinder’s hotspot while keeping his phone in flight mode. By using this strategy, he was able to elude police authorities and collaborate with other members of the murder conspiracy.
Police Investigations and Custody Updates
Gill’s cell phone may contain important evidence in the case, thus the Crime Branch is actively looking for it. Gill is accused of providing logistical assistance for the shooting and is the 24th person detained in relation to Siddique’s murder.
As a result of Shiv Kumar Gautam’s lack of cooperation and the failure to collect the murder weapon, a Mumbai court has prolonged the main accused’s police detention till November 23.

Shelter Provided by Other Accused
The Crime Branch is searching for Gill’s cell phone because it could hold crucial evidence in the investigation. Gill is the 24th person arrested in connection with Siddique’s murder and is charged with logistically aiding the shooting.
A Mumbai court has extended Shiv Kumar Gautam’s police arrest till November 23 due to his lack of cooperation and failure to retrieve the murder weapon.
