US Ambassador Eric Garcetti Recalls Meeting Shah Rukh Khan at Mannat: ‘Everybody in My Office Went Nuts
US Ambassador Eric Garcetti talked about how everyone in his office was shocked that he and actor Shah Rukh Khan had met during his first few weeks in India. Eric talked candidly about how he first learned about the love that Shah Rukh’s fans had for him on the most recent episode of the ANI podcast, which featured Smita Prakash.

Eric claimed that following his 2023 meeting with Shah Rukh Khan, also known as SRK, he was asked in his workplace if he knew who he had really met. “I think when I visited Shah Rukh Khan (during) my first couple of weeks here (India), we talked cricket because, of course, Shah Rukh owns the IPL team KKR,” Eric said, recalling his conversation with the actor. Everyone in my office lost their minds. “Oh my God, did you know who you met?” they exclaimed. “Yes, Shah Rukh Khan,” I said. However, I was unaware of the extent of love that the nation had for Shah Rukh.

When Eric Garcetti met Shah Rukh Khan
Meeting in May of last year at the actor’s Mumbai house, Mannat, the two talked about Bollywood’s ‘great cultural impact’ worldwide. At the time, Eric shared information about his visit to the actor’s house on X (now Twitter). Should I make my Bollywood debut now? “Had an amazing conversation with superstar @iamsrk at his home in Mannat, learning more about the Mumbai film industry and talking about the enormous cultural influence of Hollywood and Bollywood worldwide,” Eric posted. In addition, he posted photos of Shah Rukh wearing a black T-shirt with sleeves, black jeans, and a cap. There was also a photo of Gauri Khan.
