Ellyse Perry Amazed by Delhi Crowd’s Reaction as RCB Clinches Thrilling WPL Title Victory over DC

Aussie all-rounder Ellyse Perry was ecstatic to have guided Royal Challengers Bangalore to their first-ever WPL title. Perry was the team’s top run scorer and the Orange Cap winner, so she was essential to RCB’s historic season. The Australian star helped RCB defeat Meg Lannings’ Delhi Capitals by 8 wickets in the low-scoring thriller by staying undefeated at 35 in the final on the challenging batting surface. Perry maintained her composure in the championship game and contributed another significant hit for the Bangalore-based team this season. Even though they were playing the home club, the Arun Jaitley Stadium audience gave RCB a tremendous reception in the match’s conclusion as the women’s squad carried on the large fan base of the men’s team.

The Orange Cap winner noted that the WPL’s rise is amazing for women’s cricket and that the support for her squad is at an entirely new level. Quite insane, to be honest. The support we’ve received from all the teams has been incredible and at a whole new level, Perry told reporters. With three balls remaining to win the title, RCB’s young wicketkeeper-batsman Richa Ghosh struck a boundary to end the match. After they shared an undefeated 33-run stand to secure the deal, Perry was quite impressed with Ghosh’s skills and composure in the middle.

“She is unbelievable, for such a young player, she has got so many shots, we were cool and we felt we had to stay in the game and it took longer than it should have been,” she said. The bowlers laid the groundwork for RCB to win by taking three wickets in an over, which disrupted Delhi Capitals’ promising start and prevented them from gathering any momentum after that over. The Capitals were dismissed for 113 in 18.3 overs thanks to the spin of Shreyanka Patil, who also claimed four wickets. Perry praised the bowlers for their outstanding performance on the grand stage, highlighting Mollineux and Shreyanka in particular. “The contest was flipped on its head by Mollineux. She was supported by the remaining spinners. She said, “That was a special performance. Shreyanka is such a young player and she has the world at her feet.”
