Duleep Trophy 2024: Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli Among Stars Set to Feature Ahead of Bangladesh Test Series
The following Duleep Prize, in 2024, is supposed to sizzle with the greatest names of Indian cricket, including Rohit Sharma, India’s acclaimed chief, alongside Virat Kohli. Informed sources inside the Ajit Agarkar-drove senior BCCI choice panel have advised that extraordinary accentuation has been on the accessibility of all Test players for the said occasion, which is a significant dress practice before the home series starts against Bangladesh.
He added that “the India A, India B, India C, and India D teams will be captained by not only Rohit and Kohli but will feature other top players, including Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Suryakumar Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav, and Axar Patel”.
Incidentally, as is said, Jasprit Bumrah may pull out of the tournament to be fully fit for a home series against Bangladesh because he’s such a valuable cricketer. With India set to play 10 Tests in the next four months of time, Duleep Trophy, with five games at home comprising two against Bangladesh and three against New Zealand and five during an Australia tour, will be an integral part of their preparation.
The six-match competition is scheduled to begin the fifth of September in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. In any case, the scene could change to M Chinnaswamy Arena in Bengaluru as there could be strategic issues for the cricketers partaking in the competition without the accessibility of an air terminal in Anantapur.
While there is no clarity about which particular game Rohit and Kohli would be part of, there could be a possibility of them turning up for the first game if, for example, there’s a much-needed preparatory camp in Chennai before the Bangladesh series.

Further, the likes of Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan, who were surprisingly left out of the annual nomination contract list by the BCCI, would be featuring in the competition as well. Both these players were reportedly dropped from the list for missing domestic tournaments during their national tours. Iyer has already returned to national colours in the recently concluded ODI series against Sri Lanka, while Ishan has been out of the national side for close to nine months now.
However, the veterans Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane are not part of the competition, while the team management has a look at the young guns.
