Doctor and 6 Workers Killed in Terror Attack at Construction Site in Jammu and Kashmir
A tragic incident occurred on Sunday when terrorists opened fire at a building site in Gagangir, Ganderbal district, Jammu and Kashmir, killing a doctor and six construction workers, according to official sources. The assault on foreign workers was denounced by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah as a “dastardly and cowardly” conduct. On X (formerly Twitter), Mr. Abdullah wrote, “I’m praying that the injured recover completely as the more seriously injured are being referred to SKIMS, Srinagar.”
The terrorists targeted a camp in the Gund region that housed employees of a private firm working on a tunnel that was still under construction. The army and police responded by quickly enclosing the area and beginning an operation to find the attackers. Through its official X feed, Jammu and Kashmir Police confirmed the incident: “Terror incident in Gagangeer, Ganderbal.” Security personnel have blocked off the area. More information will be provided later.
