Devendra Fadnavis Named Maharashtra CM, Ajit Pawar as Deputy in Mahayuti Alliance Government
Important Mahayuti politicians met with Governor CP Radhakrishnan at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai on Wednesday afternoon to formally make claims to form the government. These figures included Devendra Fadnavis, the chief minister-elect of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde of the Shiv Sena, and Ajit Pawar of the NCP. Ajit Pawar was announced by Fadnavis as his deputy-elect during a joint news conference that the three of them attended after the meeting. In their letters of support, Pawar and Shinde had both backed his candidacy for chief minister, Fadnavis emphasized.
Shinde’s Role Still Undecided
“I have asked Shinde to join the government and accept the deputy chief minister position,” Fadnavis said about Eknath Shinde’s position. However, there is still debate on Shinde’s precise portfolio.
Ajit Pawar Denies Meeting Amit Shah
Ajit Pawar responded to rumors by stating that politics had nothing to do with his recent trip to Delhi. “I traveled to handle personal matters, including legal consultations regarding the NCP symbol dispute and my wife’s allocation of a Rajya Sabha member’s residence,” he said. Pawar emphasized his dedication to public welfare while assuring his supporters that his activities will be transparent.
Shinde Expresses Support
Thanking Fadnavis for helping him as chief minister two and a half years ago, Eknath Shinde now supports Fadnavis. Shinde expressed solidarity among the coalition leaders and thanked the senior leadership of the BJP for their leadership.

Oath-Taking Ceremony Scheduled
The governor has approved the swearing-in of the new government, which is set for Thursday, December 5 at 5:30 PM in Mumbai’s Azad Maidan. It is normal that noticeable BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Association Home Pastor Amit Shah, would go to the occasion. Shiv Sena MLAs congratulated Fadnavis on his consistent political race as the head of the BJP Legislative Party during a gathering before the day at the Varsha residence.
