Delhi Wakes Up to Cloudy Skies, Minimum Temperature Drops to 28°C

According to the Met office, the national capital saw a partly cloudy morning on Saturday with a low temperature of 28.6 degrees Celsius.

On Friday, rain dropped heavily in several areas of Delhi, providing much-needed relief from the oppressive heat. Up to 8:30 am on Saturday, the city saw 4 mm of rain in a 24-hour period.

The India Meteorological Department reports that Saturday’s maximum temperature is expected to hover around 41 degrees Celsius and that the sky will continue to be partly cloudy.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the national capital’s Air Quality Index (AQI) reading of 180 at 9 am placed it in the “moderate” category.

The classification of an AQI is as follows: 0–50 = “good”, 51–100 = “satisfactory”, 101–200 = “moderate”, 201–300 = “poor”, 301–400 = “very poor”, and 401–500 = “severe”. NIT RHL PTI
