Three UPSC Students Killed in Delhi Coaching Center Flooding: Identities Revealed
After becoming trapped in the flooded basement of a coaching center in Old Rajendra Nagar, Delhi, three students lost their lives on Saturday. The three victims’ bodies were discovered by local police and the NDRF rescue personnel many hours after the region had flooded. The three victims were Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) candidates enrolled at Rau’s IAS coaching facility, according to the police. Nivin Dalwin from Ernakulam, Kerala; Tanya Soni from Telangana; and Shreya Yadav from Ambedkar Nagar, Uttar Pradesh are the three victims’ names. The remains of the deceased have reportedly been sent to the RML mortuary, according the Delhi police. Details about the incidentOf the thirty or so children in the coaching facility, about twelve or fourteen were saved and taken to a hospital; the other students managed to escape.
Around 7 p.m. According to the police, the Delhi fire department received a complaint on Saturday regarding waterlogging at the Rao IAS Study Center and the Karol Bagh neighborhood. The complaint stated that two or three students were reportedly stuck in a flooded basement. The basement was fully submerged when they arrived. After a while, the water on the road subsided, allowing the water level to drop from twelve feet to eight feet and allowing the recovery of the kids’ bodies. Initially, the efforts to pump out the water were hindered by the precipitation continuing to run into the basement.
Of the thirty or so children in the coaching facility, about twelve or fourteen were saved and taken to a hospital; the other students managed to escape. According to the police, the rescue operation is over, and they will look into how the water got into the basement and why the class was taking place there. The owner and coordinator of the coaching center was being held by the police, and a criminal complaint was filed in relation to the pupils’ deaths.

Additionally, the MCD Commissioner has been instructed by Delhi Mayor Shelly Oberoi to take stern measures against coaching centers operating in the city that fall under MCD jurisdiction and conduct commercial operations in basements that are against building bye-laws and standards. She also stated that an investigation will be launched right once to find out if any MCD personnel are to blame for this catastrophe. The strictest measures must be taken against any official found culpable, according to her.
