Rajnath Singh Honors Indian Army Soldiers in Siachen: ‘It is the Capital of Bravery and Valor

On Monday, April 22, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh visited the troops at Siachen Base Camp in Ladakh and spoke with the military men stationed there. By putting a wreath at the war memorial, he honored the “bravehearts.” “I congratulate you for the way you protect the country at the world’s highest battlefield, Siachen Glacier,” Rajnath Singh said, addressing the troops. Siachen is a unique land that represents the nation’s tenacity and sovereignty. It represents our determination as a country. Siachen is the capital of bravery and valor, while Delhi is the capital of our nation, Mumbai the center of our economy, and Bengaluru the center of technology.”

Singh was seen shouting “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” with military soldiers in a video released by the news agency. In a different video, he interacted with every soldier, getting to know them by name, rank, and hometown. On May 1, one of the staff members, Captain Suman, is scheduled to be stationed at Siachen Glacier’s Kumar Post. After they met with the defense minister, jawans raised chants at Kumar’s position at Siachen Glacier in Ladakh, filling the air with the echo of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai.”

He posted on X (previously Twitter) earlier in the day with the caption, “Leaving New Delhi for Siachen,” before leaving for Siachen. I want to talk with the gallant members of our armed forces who are stationed there. Situated in the eastern Karakoram range of the Himalayas is the Siachen Glacier.
