Chennai Super Kings defeated Gujarat Titans in a rain-soaked IPL 2023 final to win their record-tying fifth title. With the victory, CSK tied the record number of titles held by MI and solidified MS Dhoni’s status as one of the greatest leaders in cricket history.

GT reached 214/4 in 20 overs thanks to a 96-run innings off 47 balls by Sai Sudharsan, and even Wriddhiman Saha (54) scored a half-century. On the eve of the CSK vs. RCB IPL 2024 opener, supporters were taken aback when Dhoni gave the captaincy to rookie Ruturaj Gaikwad. With two victories in two games, CSK has gotten off to a great start under Gaikwad’s direction and is currently leading the league.
