‘Cowardly, Pakistan-Sponsored Terrorism’: BJP Leader Condemns J&K Attack That Killed 7
Kavinder Gupta, a former deputy chief minister and leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), denounced the recent terror attack on civilians in Gagangir, Ganderbal district of Jammu & Kashmir, calling it a cowardly act of Pakistan-sponsored terrorism. Attacking foreign workers who travel to Jammu and Kashmir to make a living is dishonorable and a calculated attempt to disturb the calm environment following elections, he underlined.
“This is a cowardly kind of terrorism that Pakistan supports. Individuals from different states come here to work. Shooting them is a dishonorable thing to do. A positive mood was created, and elections were held here. Here, they merely wished to affect the mood. Their goal was to bring terrorism back to Jammu and Kashmir. Two or three days have passed since the last event. It is necessary to develop a fresh plan. “I believe they will be neutralized shortly, and the security forces are performing well,” Gupta stated.
In addition, he acknowledged the worry this tragedy has caused and advised people to exercise caution. He continued, “Incidents have occurred over the past two days, but people must exercise caution as well.”
Congress leader Ravinder Sharma described the attack as regrettable and expressed his heartfelt grief over it. The attack targeted innocent individuals and doctors. Our army and security forces will retaliate for this. The Jammu and Kashmir government ought to act on this and start working on prosecuting the offenders now that the elections are finished. I offer prayers for the injured people to heal quickly. We have to make sure that such occurrences don’t occur again.

Omar Abdullah, the leader of the National Conference, also denounced the attack and emphasized the terrible death toll. “Very sad news of a dastardly and cowardly attack on non-local laborers at Gagangir in the Sonamarg region,” he wrote on X (previously Twitter). These individuals were engaged in a significant local infrastructure project. There have been two fatalities and two to three injuries. I extend my condolences to their loved ones and vehemently condemn this attack on defenseless, unarmed individuals.
Political leaders are demanding strict measures to stop similar instances in the future since the attack has sparked worries about regional security.
