Congress Faces Setback as Senior Leaders in Madhya Pradesh Jump Ship to Join BJP
Five Congress officials, including former union minister Suresh Pachouri and former MP Gajendra Singh Rajukhedi, left the party on Saturday and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), dealing a serious blow to the INDIA alliance in Madhya Pradesh. Leaders of the great old party, including former MLAs Sanjay Shukla, Arjun Paliya, and Vishal Patel, joined the ruling coalition. At the state BJP headquarters, the five former Congress leaders joined the party with state BJP president V. D. Sharma, Madhya Pradesh chief minister Mohan Yadav, and previous chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Former Gandhi family friend Pachouri claims that the Congress has “alienated itself from its principles and policies.”
Speaking to the media, he stated, “It has alienated itself from the public and is unable to establish a relationship.” Remarkably, Pachouri was a four-time member of the ancient party’s Rajya Sabha. He has previously held a number of important roles in the Congress, such as president of the Madhya Pradesh unit and state unit president of the Youth Congress.
State BJP head VD Sharma welcomed the former union minister to the ruling party, saying: “Someone who does clean politics, who is considered a’saint’ in Madhya Pradesh politics, has joined the BJP today.” He has conveyed his trust in the leaders of the party. He has stated that he is open to working with the government under any circumstances. He declared that a response was required from those who questioned the Army and turned down the invitation to the (Pran Pratishtha of) Ram Temple. Welcome to the celebration, sir.

BJP hits out at Congress
Ahead of the Lok Sabha election, BJP leader and former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan attributed the latest high-profile resignations to the Congress’s “lack of leadership.” It appears that Rahul Gandhi won’t be able to relax until the Congress is destroyed. It will be consistent with the recommendations made by Mahatma Gandhi to the Congress. The lack of direction and rudder in the party is a source of frustration for all competent leaders in Congress. He warned the media that the Congress seemed to be in danger of being extinct.
