Congress Removes Supriya Shrinate From The Lok Sabha Election Contest Amid Backlash Over Remarks Regarding Kangana Ranaut
The Congress party on Wednesday dropped its Lok Sabha survey candidate Supriya Shrinate amid the continuous push over her comments on performing artist Kangana Ranaut, the Bharatiya Janata Party’s candidate from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi. Notably, Shrinate has been dropped as the candidate from the voting public she challenged in 2019.
The Congress pioneer challenged the final Lok Sabha surveys from Maharajganj in Uttar Pradesh but was misplaced by the BJP’s Pankaj Chaudhary. The party supplanted Shrinate with Virendra Chaudhary as its candidate for the Lok Sabha seat. The advancement came after Shrinate pulled in a parcel of feedback over her deprecatory social media post on performing artist Kangana Ranaut, the BJP’s candidate from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi.
Highlighting a photo of Ranaut, Shrinate in her questionable Instagram post said, “Kya bhav chal raha hai Mandi primary koi batayega? (Can somebody say what the going rate is in Mandi?” Following the shock, Shrinate expeditiously clarified and said that a few individuals had gotten to her social media accounts, and one of them made the unseemly post. “As soon as I came to know, I erased that post. Everybody who knows me, moreover, knows exceptionally well that I can never make individual and foul comments towards any lady.

I needed to know how this happened,” the Congress pioneer said. Meanwhile, the Decision Commission also issued a show-cause take note to Shrinate over her post. Responding to the Congress leader’s comments, Ranaut took to social media and said, “Dear Supriya ji. In the final 20 years of my career as a craftsman, I have played all sorts of ladies. From a credulous young lady in Ruler to an enticing spy in Dhaakad, from a goddess in Manikarnika to a devil in Chandramukhi, from a prostitute in Rajjo to a progressive pioneer in Thalaivii,” posted Ranaut on X, tending to the Congress spokesperson. “We must free our girls from the shackles of biases; we must rise above the interest in approximately their body parts; and overall, we must abstain from utilizing sex workers’ challenging lives or circumstances as a few kinds of mishandle or slur… Each lady merits her dignity,” she added.
