CM Atishi and Ministers Inspect Delhi Roads, Vow to Achieve ‘Pothole-Free Capital by Diwali’

On Monday, Public Works Department (PWD) ministers and Chief Minister Atishi inspected several parts of Delhi to detect and rectify road problems. Atishi reaffirmed her pledge to make sure the nation’s capital is free of potholes by Diwali in a tweet that was shared on X (previously Twitter).

Mostly in south and southeast Delhi, the locations visited included Okhla, Modi Mill Flyover, Chirag Dilli, Tughlakabad, Mathura Road, Ashram Chowk, and its underpass. Due to potholes, Atishi observed that the roads in these areas were in bad shape and caused inconvenience to commuters.

She gave PWD workers the order to start fixing these roads right away and stated that Arvind Kejriwal’s team wants to give the locals smooth, pothole-free roads before the time of the Diwali celebration.

Earlier today, east Delhi roads were inspected by AAP ministers Saurabh Bharadwaj and former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. Other cabinet ministers also contributed to the effort: Mukesh Ahlawat in north and northwest Delhi, Imran Hussain in central and new Delhi, Kailash Gahlot in west and southwest Delhi, and Gopal Rai in northeastern Delhi inspected roads.

The citywide road inspections come after Atishi’s review meeting on Sunday, during which it was decided that each minister would evaluate the areas they were allocated for a week to identify roads that needed to be repaired.
