Chris Martin and Deepika Padukone’s Candid Moment at Shah Rukh Khan’s Mannat Goes Viral
Fans are excited about Coldplay’s upcoming tour in India in 2025. This feeling has been boosted by an old picture that has started circulating again online showing the band’s frontman Chris Martin with Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone. The image was taken at a party thrown by Indian film star Shah Rukh Khan back in 2016 and is now getting lots of likes and shares on social media as people gear up for when the British group will play live in Mumbai.
Coldplay made a big impression on their Indian fans three years ago when they headlined the Global Citizen Festival, an exclusive event after the show at which Khan invited the rockers back to his Mumbai mansion, Mannat. There, they chatted with some of Bollywood’s biggest names, and it was then that the photograph of Martin and Padukone looking so friendly first appeared.
The picture itself shows the Yellow singer wearing a casual turquoise t-shirt, sitting close to the animated actress, who appears deep in conversation with him. Earlier this week, a post including the photograph appeared on the official Coldplay India X socials, and it showed that this pair get along famously offstage as well as when performing together!
After this powerful throwback photo surfaced, it not only conjured up beloved memories but also ramped up excitement for Coldplay’s return to India. The British band recently revealed plans for a three-night concert series at Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium, and tickets are disappearing fast.
So fast, in fact, that eager fans have crashed multiple websites while rushing to secure their seats. Making things feel even more thrilling? Frontman Chris Martin’s well-documented love of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Martin professed his admiration yet again just last year via a tweet that read “Shah Rukh Khan forever.”

This kind of public display has only deepened the bond between these musicians and their Indian fanbase. As everyone gears up for what will surely be some high-voltage shows (such an understatement! ), one can’t help but wonder whether there might be other moments of cultural crossover too. Might there be another glitzy Bollywood party à la the one the boys attended when they were last in town? Could we be on course for some surprise onstage collaborations? The answer is a resounding… maybe! Everything’s up for grabs, and we are so here for it.
