He was displeased: After RCB claims that Chahal was not retained, Chahal became irate. Hesson Mike
Indian cricket fans were stunned when Regal Challengers Bangalore didn’t hold Yuzvendra Chahal in the IPL 2022 mega sell-off. As a result, the prevailing leggie was reserved for the Rajasthan Royals. Previous RCB Executive of Operations, Mike Hesson, has gone on to uncover why Chahal wasn’t held by the Bangalore outfits.
Chahal started his IPL stretch when he was bought by the Mumbai Indians in 2011. Back in 2014, he was bought by RCB, who once again went on to hold him in 2018. But a long time later, in 2022, he was not held by the Challengers.
“I talked to Yuzi (Yuzvendra Chahal) clearly when we did the beginning maintenance, and we retained three players since we felt we needed to undertake and purchase back both Harshal Patel and Yuzi at the sell-off. Likely, the thing that I’m truly disappointed in presently is that, as you said, Yuzi is likely one of the best five players of all time for RCB, but he was also one of the leading players ever within the IPL, and the truth that he couldn’t make the best two marquee records at that time was ridiculous,” Mike Hesson told Cricket.com.
Hesson went on to uncover that Chahal was on their radar. Despite not being held, RCB had plans to purchase Chahal along with Harshal Patel. RCB was chosen to hold three players for the IPL 2022 mega sell-off. Hesson claimed that Chahal was not included in the two marquee lists, which was ridiculous.

The previous RCB chief said that Chahal was disappointed and disturbed with the choice. He claimed that since Chahal came up in number 65 amid the sell-off, it was troublesome to purchase the player. “The reality that he came in at number 65 on the sell-off list implies that it was truly troublesome for us to guarantee we were planning to get him. I remember ringing Yuzi a while later, and he was disturbed. It was exceptionally troublesome to undertake and clarify to him the sell-off flow at that time. He was unmistakably uninvolved, and I don’t fault him. He was an RCBian, and he was disappointed. But I can guarantee everybody that he is well aware of the issues we were up against,” Hesson concluded.
