Bomb Threats Hit DPS Dwarka, Amity, and Other Delhi-NCR Schools; Intensive Search Underway

At least six schools in the Delhi-NCR, including several campuses of Mother Mary’s, Amity, and Delhi Public School, received emails on Wednesday morning threatening to carry out a bombing. Officials stated that the schools are being evacuated as a precaution and that the Delhi Police are thoroughly searching the area. A bomb disposal squad, a bomb detection unit, and a Delhi Fire Service team have been dispatched to the schools, where they are undertaking a search and rescue operation. “There has been information received about a bomb at Delhi Public School in Dwarka. Firefighters, the Bomb Disposal Squad, and Delhi Police have all appeared. “A search is in progress,” a statement from Delhi Police stated.

Authorities verified that identical threats were also received by Mother Mary’s, Amity Saket and Pushp Vihar, DPS Noida, and Sanskriti schools in Mayur Vihar. An email about a bomb threat was discovered at Mother Mary’s School in East Delhi, Mayur Vihar, this morning. Police added, “The school is being evacuated, and the area is being inspected thoroughly.”

“A preliminary inquiry reveals that, since yesterday, emails have been sent to several addresses, and they appear to follow the same pattern, according to Delhi Police. The absence of a dateline or BCC in the email indicates that it has been sent to several recipients. The inquiry is still underway,” it stated.

Schools are closed today as a precautionary measure.

“This is to notify you that the school has received an email posing a danger to the children’s security and safety. The principal’s office of DPS Noida released a statement saying, “As a precaution, we are sending the students back home immediately.” “Private commuters, please arrange to collect your child from the school premises as soon as possible at the respective gates. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding,” it added. In response to police orders, Amity, Pushp Vihar, and Saket were evacuated after receiving bomb threats as well. A spokesperson said the schools will remain closed today until further notice.
