BJP Demands CBI Polygraph Test for Mamata Banerjee and Kolkata Police Commissioner in Doctor’s Rape and Murder Case

BJP Demands CBI Polygraph Test for Mamata Banerjee and Kolkata Police Commissioner in Doctor’s Rape and Murder Case

The Bharatiya Janata Party has continued an attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, holding her responsible for allowing people to do the horrible crime in concealing those accused of the rape and murder of the doctor within the premises of the state-run RG Kar hospital in Kolkata. The BJP has demanded that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conduct a polygraph test on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Goel to unearth the truth behind the gory crime.

Addressing a press conference of his own in New Delhi, BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia came down heavily on the West Bengal government, branding Mamata Banerjee a dictator. He further condemned the lathi-charge action of the peaceful protesters who sought justice for the killed doctor. The BJP has demanded the resignation of Banerjee, bringing the issue of mismanagement done in the case by the state administration into the limelight.

Bhatia leveled the allegations against the Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Goel that he declared the incident to be a case of suicide, which has now proved otherwise by the autopsy report. An autopsy report showed the victim was sexually assaulted before being strangled to death, with 25 internal and external injuries found on her body.

Following the same, the BJP has now demanded a CBI inquiry on the matter and suggested a polygraph test for both Mamata Banerjee and Vineet Goel in order to bring the culprits to book.

The Leader of Opposition of Bhaichung, Suvendu Adhikari, also expressed his anger over the brutal crackdown by the police on the protestors during the ‘Nabanna Abhijan’ rally. Adhikari attacked the state administration, stating that in order to nab Nabanna trespassers, they had been indulging in brutal repression, and if these “brutalities” were not stopped immediately, he would stall the entire state.

The tragic incident indeed has erupted severe anger and protests across West Bengal, seeking responsibility and quick justice for the dead. The BJP’s demand for a polygraph test on key officials marks a significant increase in the political tension surrounding the case.

The CBI is under scrutiny with all eyes as investigations to realize the truth and ensure the people who are responsible for this heinous crime are brought to book.
