Bishnoi Community Conditions for Salman Khan Apology in Blackbuck Case
The leader of the Bishnoi community responded and released an official statement a few days after Salman Khan’s ex-girlfriend, Somy Ali, apologized in public on his behalf. According to a Live Hindustan story, Devendra Budiya, the head of the All India Bishnoi Society, has stated that the community will pardon Salman for the blackbuck case that began the whole scandal in 1998—but only if he fulfills a certain need.
‘No one else can apologize on his behalf.
“If Salman himself apologizes, the Bishnoi society will consider the apology as the mistake was not made by Somy Ali but by Salman,” Devendra Budiya was reported as stating in Hindi. He cannot accept an apology from anyone else. Since forgiveness is one of our 29 precepts, our samaj (community) would consider pardoning him if he personally visits the temple and asks for forgiveness. Before we decide to pardon Salman, he should further swear that he would never commit the same error again and that he will endeavor to save the environment and animals.”
About the 1998 Blackbuck case
Salman supposedly went blackbuck hunting in Bawad in Mathania, close to Jodhpur, Rajasthan, during the 1999 filming of Sooraj Barjatya’s Hum Saath Saath Hain. In 1998, he was booked with Tabu, Sonali Bendre, and Neelam as co-stars. Salman was also given a five-year severe jail term in 2018, but he was given bail.
Somy Ali’s apology to the Bishnoi community
In a recent interview with the Hindustan Times, Somy shared her worries for Salman’s safety in the wake of the April 14 gunfire incident outside his Mumbai house. “I don’t support hunting as a sport, but this event happened a long time ago,” she stated. In 1998, Salman was a lot younger. I would want to ask the chief of the Bishnoi tribe to put it behind them. If Salman has erred, please accept my apology on his behalf and grant him forgiveness.

“Taking someone’s life, be it Salman or an ordinary common man, is not acceptable,” Somy continued. You should go to court if you want justice. Like in America, I have complete trust in the legal system and attorneys in India. I would like to make a plea to the Bishnoi people, telling them that hurting Salman Khan won’t make the blackbuck return. I can’t undo what has occurred to me, so let the past go. I’ve reconciled with who I am. I have committed my entire life to ending the tears today.
