Bill Gates Reportedly Donates $50 Million to Back Kamala Harris’ Presidential Campaign
According to The New York Times, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has covertly given $50 million to a group that supports Democratic presidential contender Kamala Harris. Gates’ gift was not included in any public filings since it was made to Future Forward USA Action, the nonprofit division of Future Forward, a “dark money” organization that does not reveal its donors.
Despite not openly endorsing Harris, Gates has voiced concerns in private discussions about the ramifications of a second Trump administration, specifically with regard to possible cuts to global health and family planning initiatives. The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Gates’ charitable organization, is particularly worried about these problems.
Gates responded to the article by stressing his dedication to bipartisanship and pointing out that this election is special. Gates declared, “I back candidates who show a strong commitment to advancing health care, combating poverty, and halting climate change in the US and around the world.” While he emphasized his status to team up with leaders of both parties, he portrayed the 2024 political race as “unprecedented” as far as its significance for underestimated bunches all around the world.

Donald Trump, Harris’ opponent, is the oldest presidential nominee in US history at 78, while Harris recently celebrated her 60th birthday. Melinda French Gates, Gates’ ex-wife, has publicly endorsed Harris, joining the rising number of billionaires who are backing her campaign. On the other hand, Trump enjoys the backing of another billionaire, Elon Musk. Gates’ preference is still hidden despite the sizeable donation, which is consistent with his track record of working with leaders from a variety of political backgrounds.
