Baba Siddiqui Murder: Everything We Know About the NCP Leader’s Attackers and Lawrence Bishnoi Gang’s Involvement

Two persons are under custody by Mumbai Police who are looking into the death of former NCP leader and minister Baba Siddiqui. He was shot and killed. Both Gurmail Baljit Singh, a 23-year-old from Haryana, and Dharmaraj Rajesh Kashyap, a 19-year-old from Uttar Pradesh, are the suspects. They allege to be members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which is well-known for threatening Bollywood actor Salman Khan.

Pune-based 29-year-old Pravin Lonkar was the third suspect apprehended. Initially, his brother Shubham claimed on social media that he was the murderer on behalf of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, but he later removed the post. Pravin is accused of being a key player in the plot, having recruited Dharmaraj Kashyap and taken the identity of the gunman, Shivkumar Gautam, also known as Shiva, into his possession.

On Saturday, the attackers attacked Siddiqui by getting out of a car and shooting at him while hiding behind the sound of firecrackers nearby. Despite being sent to Lilavati Hospital right away, he died from his wounds.

According to reports, one of the gunmen who was apprehended, Gurmail Singh, had a criminal past. Three months ago, he was freed on bond after being arrested for murder in 2019. Eleven years ago, his family allegedly disowned him; according to his grandma, “He is nothing to us now.”

The claims shocked Dharmaraj Kashyap’s family, who revealed through his mother that he had left home two months before going to work in a scrapyard in Pune. The superintendent of police for Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, Vrinda Shukla, verified that Dharmaraj and the fugitive suspect, Shivkumar Gautam, were both from Gandara village. Having been childhood friends, the two men recently got back in touch when Gautam brought Dharmaraj to Pune for employment.

The authorities have recognized six people as involved in the conspiracy; three suspects are in custody right now. With help from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, the murder scheme is thought to have been planned out of Patiala jail, with Muhammad Zeeshan Akhtar identified as a major conspirator.

The police are still looking for the remaining suspects and the investigation is still ongoing.
