Atishi Set to Take Oath as Delhi’s Chief Minister Today

At 4:30 PM on Saturday afternoon, Atishi will officially become the Chief Minister of Delhi when she is sworn in during a ceremony at Raj Niwas.

This will be the fourth time that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has held this position. Officials have also confirmed that Mukesh Ahlawat MLA from Sultanpur Majra –who joins the cabinet for the first time–will be sworn in as one of five new Ministers alongside returning ones Gopal Rai Kailash Gahlot Saurabh Bharadwaj Imran Hussain.

When she takes office Atishi will make history by becoming India’s 17th female CM; she has managed 13 different departments including finance revenue public works power education during her tenure with the outgoing Kejriwal government.

President Droupadi Murmu made a big announcement on Friday evening. Atishi will be the new Chief Minister of Delhi. She is taking over from Arvind Kejriwal.

He said he would only come back once people believed he was honest. Along with this change in leadership, five others were also chosen as cabinet ministers.

Despite how important this moment is historically speaking there won’t be too much going on at the ceremony itself – everyone’s feeling pretty down! There hasn’t been much time to plan things either because some needed approvals took longer than expected after Arvind quit earlier this week; AAP members had all decided they wanted their colleague Atishi to take charge during a meeting (legislature party leader).
