Owaisi Criticizes Centre’s Waqf Board Plan as ‘Against Freedom of Religion’
All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday responded to buzz over Center’s arrangement to carry a bill to check the powers of Waqf Board over resources. “First and foremost, when Parliament is in meeting, the focal government is acting against parliamentary matchless quality and honors and illuminating the media and not illuminating Parliament. I can say that anything has been written in the media about this proposed revision shows that the Modi government needs to remove the independence of the Waqf Board and it needs to meddle,” AIMIM cited Owaisi as saying.
“This itself is against the opportunity of religion. Subsequently, the BJP has been against these sheets and Waqf properties all along and they have a Hindutva agenda…Now in the event that you make changes to the foundation and piece of the Waqf board, then, at that point, there will be a regulatory tumult, loss of independence of the Waqf board and in the event that the control of the public authority increments over the Waqf Board, the freedom of Waqf will be impacted,” he added.

“According to the media story, these people will claim that the property is challenged and that we will have it investigated in the unlikely event that it is. The review will be led by the BJP, CMs and you understand what will be its outcome. There are numerous such dargahs in our India where BJP-RSS claims that they are not dargahs and mosques, so the chief is attempting to grab the force of the legal executive,” the Hyderabad MP added.
