Arvind Kejriwal to Surrender on June 2, Cites Serious Health Concerns

Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal declared on Friday that he would turn himself in to the police on Sunday at Tihar Jail. Presently serving an interim bail, the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party stated that signs of a serious illness have recently appeared on his body.

Arvind Kejriwal stated that in order to rule out the potential of any serious sickness, he needs to go through a series of medical examinations. He also implored Delhi’s populace to tend to his parents’ illness.

“I have 21 days to run for office, per the Supreme Court’s order. I’m going to Tihar Jail again the day after tomorrow. How long will these folks keep me behind bars this time? I have no idea. Nonetheless, I’m feeling good. Being sentenced to prison in order to prevent a tyranny in this country makes me proud. Their attempts to silence me and break me in several ways were unsuccessful. They kept torturing me in various ways while I was incarcerated. They discontinued my prescription drugs. What these folks desired is unknown to me. ANI quoted Arvind Kejriwal as saying, “Why did they do this?”

According to Arvind Kejriwal, he has shed about ten percent of his body weight since entering jail. Since being freed on temporary bond, he claimed he hasn’t put on any weight. He conveyed concern that a drop in weight might indicate a hidden medical condition.

I weighed 70 kg when I was sent to prison; now, I weigh 64 kg. I’m not gaining weight, even after being let out of jail. According to doctors, this could potentially be an indication of a major illness within the body. Numerous tests must be conducted,” Kejriwal stated.

According to the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party, he would leave his home at 3 p.m. to go to Tihar Jail.

From behind bars, Kejriwal promised to work toward the development of the nation’s capital.

“I may be subjected to more torment this time, but I refuse to submit… Indoors or out, wherever I reside. I’m not going to let Delhi’s work end. After I return, I’ll start paying ₹1000 a month to every mother and sister in addition to the free power, mohalla clinics, hospitals, free medications, treatment, and many other things you already enjoy. For my family, I would want to ask you a question today. My folks are quite elderly. Mother is not doing well. She being in jail worries me a lot. Pray for my parents and take care of them after me,” he continued.
