Anushka Sharma Shares Heartwarming Raksha Bandhan Celebration with Son Akaay and Daughter Vamika in the UK

Anushka Sharma, after the birth of her son Akaay, in February 2024, has been living there with her husband and family. The actress shared a sweet update of their Raksha Bandhan celebration on social media—a special moment for both her kids, Akaay and Vamika—only the other day.

On the 19th of August, Anushka took to an Insta story to share the festive cheer for the festive occasion. It was a picture of two adorable car-shaped rakhis. The creativity here was in strings, black and white buttons, and googly eyes. One rakhi was green, and another one was orange—dancing on the playful brother–sister bond. “Happy Raksha Bandhan,” Anushka captioned the story and further added two pink heart emojis to it, reflecting love and delight within the family.

Anushka, who frequently shares glimpses of her children’s everyday life on social media, posted an endearing picture earlier this month of Akaay and Vamika enjoying colourful popsicles. This moment was as innocent as it could get: Akaay’s tiny hand had reached into the frame to grab a bowl of cucumbers and carrots.

Anushka has never shied away from speaking her mind, like on marriage and family life. Back in 2012, in response to an interview with Simi Garewal, she did mention how much marriage was important to her and how she always wanted to get really involved with family building once married.

Her marriage to cricketer Virat Kohli in 2017 and the birth of her daughter Vamika in January of 2021 have been some very well-celebrated milestones in her life. With Akaay’s arrival into the family folds in February 2024, the family journey continued to charm fans.

Anushka is known for stellar performances in films like “Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi” and “NH10”; the last time audiences saw her in a leading role was back in 2018 with Zero. She did make a cameo in critically acclaimed “Qala” in 2022 and is going to star in a film like “Chakda X’press” as well.
