Watch: ‘Showstoppers’ Andre Russell and Sunil Narine are welcomed by KKR ahead of the 2024 IPL

Caribbean stars Andre Russell and Sunil Narine have arrived at the Kolkata Knight Riders camp in style. Russell and Narine will be speaking to KKR once more in the IPL 2024, which gets underway afterwards this week. The video of the Windies twosome being invited back to the squad was shared by the KKR on their Instagram handle.

The clip was set to the well-known Bollywood tune Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. In the clip, both Russell and Narine can be seen invited with the conventional ‘gamcha’ sometime recently. They postured for a picture together. In their post, KKR wrote, “From the Caribbean to Kolkata, the showstoppers are here!” Narine is one of KKR’s ancient watches, having played for them since 2012. He won the competition with them in 2012 and 2014 under the captaincy of Gautam Gambhir.

Narine was broadly perceived as a game-changing spinner in his early few seasons in the competition. He scalped 24 wickets in his make-a-big appearance year, followed by pulls of 22 and 21 in 2013 and 2014, respectively. In his IPL career, Narine has scalped an average of 163 wickets so far. The ingenious spinner has frequently demonstrated himself to be a danger with the bat as well. He has a total of 1046 runs in 162 matches at a fabulous strike rate of 159.69.

Russell has been a fundamental portion of the Shah Rukh Khan-owned establishment since 2014. The all-rounder has regularly won diversions single-handedly for KKR, with his best by and large season coming in 2019. That year, Russell put up a few mind-blowing numbers, scoring 510 runs in 14 matches. He did so at an amazing normal of 56.66 and a jaw-dropping strike rate of 204.81. In the same season, Russell also scalped an average of 11 wickets. The West Indies all-rounder has scored a total of 2262 runs in the IPL, while also scalping 96 wickets. KKR had a destitute-appearing final year, with the establishment wrapping up in the seventh spot. Both Russell and Narine had an underwhelming season too. Russell scored 227 runs, taking seven wickets, while Narine scored a simple 21 runs and took 11 scalps in her final year.
